The Thin Green Line: A Thumbnail Sketch of the Career of a Wildlife Conservation Officer in Rural Pennsylvania

The adventures contained in this book were first written about in a bi-weekly newspaper column for the Evening Times, Sayre, PA; the Daily Review, Towanda, PA; and the Montrose, Independent, Montrose, PA. The column was entitled, “The Thin Green Line.” Those columns have been made into a three-volume set of books entitled, "The Thin Green Line - 16 Years of Pondering." What you will read about in the pages which follow here is an expansion of those selected columns.The book is made up of different adventures I embarked upon during the twenty-two-year odyssey which would define my career. The chapters appear in no particular or chronological order. It is my hope that through my words, you'll experience the thrill of the chase as well as the gut-wrenching stress of defeat. You'll also see that we game wardens are a resourceful lot, using many methods to catch the poacher, and the occasional coarse word along the way. While we come from different walks of life, our goal is the same: to protect at all costs the natural resource, which makes up our world.I feel very passionate about what I have accomplished and hope I have been successful in conveying the ebb and flow of emotion, which has driven me to be the best advocate I can for our wildlife and the natural resource.
